DA50 First Officer reported encountering wake turbulence departing ATL in trail of an Airbus.
Synopsis
DA50 First Officer reported encountering wake turbulence departing ATL in trail of an Airbus.
Narrative
We took off from ATL off Runway 08R. Before we took off the Tower Controller confirmed 2 times that we were RNAV RONII via the PENCL2. We confirmed and it was set in our FMS. We were cleared to line up and wait after a large Airbus took off. About 30 seconds later we were cleared to take off 08R RNAV RONII. We took off and climbed out. On the climb-out; we hit the wake turbulence of the Airbus before us; which knocked us around. The pilot flying decided we shall climb a little steeper to get out of the wake path which I agreed. We hit wake once more.We then switched over to Departure. Departure asked us if we were still direct RONII; which I confirmed from checking from the course and what was in our FMS. Everything was lined up on our end so I take it they were confirming. I also told Departure we hit wake out of ATL; for if they saw something different than what was showing for us; I wanted them to know. We continued our climb and exited the area without any other oddities.I believe we should have asked for a longer delay for the aircraft in front of us. We were taking off light; and the wake was bad enough to make our wing dip. Our system was showing us on course correctly; and I hope it also looked that way for ATL Departure.
