AMENDED CLRNC RTE CHANGE NOT ADHERED TO BY ACR LGT CREW. HDG TRACK DEV.

Narrative

CLRNC ISSUED AN AMENDED DEP NUGGET 1 DURING PUSHBACK AND ENG START. COPLT MONITORED GND CTL AND ACKNOWLEDGED. CAPT WAS STARTING ENGS AND MONITORING PUSH CREW AND HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF NEW CLRNC. EVENTS AND CHKLISTS FOLLOWED -- COM BTWN PLTS OF THE NEW DEP NEVER TRANSPIRED. AS A RESULT; CAPT FLEW ORIGINAL DEP (VALLEY 1) AND DID NOT MAKE THE HDG CHANGE. THIS ALL COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF -- CTLR HAD CLR VIEW OF ACFT UNDER PUSH; AND COULD HAVE WAITED A FEW MINS UNTIL A LESS BUSY TIME. CHANGE OF DEP COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER TIMED. VISIBILITY WAS VERY CLR AND SAFETY WAS NEVER COMPROMISED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 215562: FLT WAS ISSUED A REVISED CLRNC BY RENO GND CTL DURING ENG START. WRITER ATTEMPTED TO QUICKLY ACKNOWLEDGE RATHER THAN ASK GND CTL TO STANDBY. WRITER THOUGHT CAPT HAD HEARD THE READBACK. HE HAD NOT. SUBSEQUENTLY; WRITER WAS OCCUPIED BY NORMAL DUTIES; CHKLIST; CLOSEOUT; ETC AND FAILED TO REVIEW THE REVISED CLRNC WITH THE CAPT. AS A RESULT; WE DID NOT MAKE THE 16 DEG HDG CHANGE AT 2.4 DME AS PER THE NUGGET 1 DEP. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT AND SAFETY WAS NEVER COMPROMISED.
