Narrative
ARR FLT SAT-DFW. APCH FROM W AND GIVEN RWY 18R. ON DOWNWIND WE WERE GIVEN 17L AND TAKEN ACROSS 18L AND R FINALS AT 4000 FT. APCHING 17L ATC GAVE US A CHANGE TO RWY 17R AND TO BEGIN AN IMMEDIATE R TURN TO FINAL TO WHICH WE COMPLIED. THEY CALLED TFC OUT TO US AFTER ROLLING OUT WHICH WE DID NOT SEE AT 8 O'CLOCK. TCASII AT THIS TIME DID SHOW THE ACFT AS IMMEDIATELY BEHIND US AT 100 FT TO 200 FT HIGH. THEY SWITCHED US TO TWR AND TWR ASKED US IF WE HAD TFC. WE SAID NO. THE OTHER ACFT FOLLOWED US DOWN FINAL AND LANDED ON EITHER 17L OR 13L. I LATER CALLED TWR WHO SWITCHED ME TO APCH WHO SAID IT WAS NORMAL PROC TO CLR A LIGHT ACFT; IN THIS CASE AN LTT TO FOLLOW THE ACFT IN FRONT TO THE LNDG RWY AND THE ONLY REASON THEY EVEN TOLD US OF THE TFC WAS BECAUSE WE HAD TCASII. TCASII SHOWED THE OTHER ACFT INSIDE THE SMALL CIRCLE AND RED. WE FEEL THE SITUATION WAS UNSAFE. WE WERE NEVER ADVISED THE OTHER ACFT WOULD BE FOLLOWING US AND FOR BOTH ACFT TO BE AT THE SAME PLACE ON FINAL FOR RWY 17L WAS UNSAFE AND THE LAST MIN RWY CHANGE FOR US TO 17R MAKES ME THINK THAT ACFT SPACING AND TIMING WAS NOT PROPERLY DONE BY ATC FORCING THEM TO GIVE US THE RWY CHANGE. I FEEL THIS PRACTICE OF ALLOWING ANOTHER ACFT TO FOLLOW ANOTHER TO THE ARPT SHOULD BE REVIEWED AND PROPER SPACING COMPLIED WITH.
