Synopsis
Student pilot reported that while attempting to take off in between departing and landing aircraft; the landing aircraft had to perform a go-around to avoid a possible collision with the student pilot.
Narrative
At approximately XA30 pacific on Day 0 Person A (me) - student pilot (Aircraft X) was attempting to takeoff from runway 270 @CXP/ After holding short for approximately 8 minutes i vocalized on the radio that i would like to depart runway 27 and my intention was to disembark between the current downwind and base traffic. The departing traffic had completed a touch and go and was airborne; landing traffic was turning from base to final.I took my opportunity and departed runway 27 with what i thought was ample room for myself and the landing traffic. The landing traffic had declared short final (when i declared my intention to depart 27 - we stepped on each others radio calls) from my perspective i had enough room to safely take off. The short final traffic declared a go around and had to do a 'funky maneuver' to reenter the downwind leg. I have spoken with the landing traffic and explained the situation and have apologized. In the future; in moments of doubt concerning traffic pattern sequencing (any maneuver) i will not be commencing a departure or any maneuver without positive correspondence with the other pilot (s) and if necessary i will line up and wait indefinitely if the desired departure conflicts with traffic or anyone's safety. I have spoken with my CFI regarding this issue and have explained what transpired.
