Synopsis
Air carrier flight crew reported receiving a TCAS RA to descend during final approach and a low altitude alert from ATC. Flight crew continued to landing.
Narrative
Descending on the DYAMD5; passing ARCHI we were cleared to join the FMS Bridge Visual 28R course. We advised the field in sight and were cleared for the approach after NorCal gave us our pairing traffic; an Aircraft Y; landing 28L.They were managing our speed; giving us at or above speeds; clearly with the intention of speeding us up to pair with the traffic. Approaching SAMML; we were approximately even with the traffic; but still appeared to be slightly faster. As we made the turn left to intercept the extended centerline; at approximately 1200'; we received a TA. Traffic remained in sight; so we elected to continue the approach. I elected to disconnect the autopilot and shallow the course intercept to avoid an RA. Once established; and passing approximately 1000'; we received an RA to DESCEND; just slightly below the horizon. I complied with the RA while the CA monitored the Aircraft Y. We decided the safest course of action was to continue the approach due to the possibility of simultaneous go arounds and potential loss of separation. We did receive a low altitude alert from ATC due to the RA; however we were not more than a half dot. We were stable at 500' and a normal landing and roll-out occurred.
Second reporter narrative
While configuring for landing on a visual approach to 28R; received descending RA at around 1200 feet due to landing traffic on 28L. FO did a good job of turning automation off and continuing to follow guidance from descending RA. I didn't feel it was safe to go around as traffic was close and above us. Safest option was to follow RA commands and continue to land. Was expecting traffic to go around. They didn't. Advised Tower of descending RA. Still didn't send traffic on go around. Finished configuring for landing and landed uneventfully.
