Synopsis

Helicopter student pilot reported having to perform a go around during landing due to the wind causing a loss of airspeed and momentary loss of control.

Narrative

Departed ZZZ for DXR on a student solo cross country flight; I contacted Tower and was cleared for the option for Runway 26 I preceded a normal approach to Runway 26; when I arrived over the runway I flared and slowed to about 25 kt at about 10 feet I had slowed to a low airspeed and even lower ground speed with the wind ; I then applied power to go-around but the aircraft tried to turn hard right and I was caught by surprise and I hesitated pushing forward on the cyclic because of I was not sure what was happening at that moment I thought it could be a loss of the tail rotor effectiveness.I was still about 8-10 feet above the runway; as quickly as I could regained control of the situation and initiated a go-around which was the safest thing for me to do at that moment and in the process of going around I inadvertently let my foreword airspeed drop very low and with the wind my forward motion was very low appearing almost stalled; at that moment the Tower told me that stop & go's are not authorized which was not my plan but from there perspective it may have appeared that was what I was doing; as I inadvertently let me airspeed drop lower that I had intended.
