Recreational / Hobbyist UAS pilot reported flying in controlled airspace without authorization.
Synopsis
Recreational / Hobbyist UAS pilot reported flying in controlled airspace without authorization.
Narrative
I just received my UAS a day ago and decided to just hover it above my house to see how good it is. In the DJI fly app zones it provided me at first it showed I was outside the airspace so I believed I was ok to fly but was aware I was close. I believe due to poor internet connection my location may have not been 100% accurate which caused the me thinking I was ok. After downloading another app for more precise locations (autopylot) I was then aware I was actually inside the airspace near the edge. In the two flights I conducted on Day 0 did not fly the drone any further then above my house and only for a few minutes prior to my knowledge of the violation. My house is only about 100ft away from being outside the airspace so the confusion of being inside or out is hard to tell but I do take responsibility. In the future I now know I should check multiple applications to see where the airspace is as well as fly my drone in an area clearly marked as class G. I am new to UAS rules and this being my first week I am learning a lot and will do my best to avoid a situation such as this again.
