Synopsis

ERJ 145 flight crew reported a GPWS terrain warning during final approach which was followed by a wind shear warning. The flight crew executed an escape maneuver and elected to divert for weather and fuel considerations.

Narrative

We were the first flight going into ZZZ with a storm in the area. The winds were gusting up to 47 knots with ATC getting weather updates real time that were a bit delayed in sharing that information with us. We had to divert to ZZZ1.Cause: There was a runway change due to a bad storm right over the field of ZZZ. We were setup for the ILS XX into ZZZ but they switched runways to do the ILS XY. Weather was being updated in real time so ATC could only give us the weather they had which was the ceilings being indefinite and the visibility at 2.5 miles. Winds were also reported at a gust of 47 knots slightly off the right. During the approach; we got a terrain warning when I disconnected the autopilot. I had a stable rate of descent and I could see the runway visually but shortly after; we got the red windshear alert. We did the escape maneuver that quickly went away so we configured for the normal go around profile. In the climb we were about 200 lbs over our bingo fuel so we diverted to the ZZZ1.Suggestion: Hold prior to the approach until weather is updated.

Second reporter narrative

A storm was moving from west to east. We were the first aircraft to arrive in ZZZ with the storm moving in. ATC didn't update ATIS although there were significant changes; including wind shifts and significant increases in velocity; resulting in a runway change from Runway XX to XY. Winds after finding out the runway change was 240 @ 20 gusting 47 at the peak. We were setup on the ILS XY; around 700 ft AGL GPWS terrain occurred. Shortly after around 400 ft AGL we received a red wind shear warning. Captain did the escape maneuver and made the decision to divert due to weather. We evaluated fuel and the weather and decided that was the safest course of action. We diverted to ZZZ1 and got in with no issue.Suggestion: Hold to attempt to wait out weather.
