Synopsis

Part 107 UAS pilot reported possibly flying in a TFR without authorization.

Narrative

As the Remote Pilot in Command; I was covering the Location A fire as a photojournalist during the day of Day 0 with a sUAS. Prior to taking off; I performed my pre-flight checklist: Standing on public land in Class G airspace; 360 sweep of the area to confirm there was no aircraft or potential flightpath in sight; and not located in an immediate burn zone where emergency response crews were flying.I was not aware at the time of a Temporary Flight Restriction. Prior to take-off; I reviewed my DJI Fly application to review any alerts or flight restrictions. There was no alert for a Temporary Flight Restriction in the area. My drone did not exceed 334 feet AGL.Later that day; I was notified that there may have in fact been a Temporary Flight Restriction in place. In response; I proceeded with the following corrective actions: - I immediately removed all social media posts that included pictures taken with the drone to not encourage drone usage (No video was shot).- I denied all media comments and licensing/usage requests of the photographs taken with the drone.- I ceased all drone flight operations moving forward. To prevent a future occurrence; I will verify if there is a Temporary Flight Restriction in place through a secondary flight planning application. Upon hearing the news of a Temporary Flight Restriction; I did everything I could think of to not encourage drone usage and respect the heroic firefighting efforts.
