Synopsis

Part 107 UAS pilot reported flying in controlled airspace without authorization.

Narrative

Was conducting a UAS roof inspection for a homeowners insurance company; using AirControl software for airspace reference. I misinterpreted the airspace graphic as indicating the I was below the PHX Class B airspace with a floor of 3000ft above. Later review and zoom in indicates that I was a few blocks farther east; with PHX Class B 'hourglass' airspace extending to the surface. Flight did not exceed 50 ft AGL; at any time.I misinterpreted the blue box as indicating that LANNC authorization was available for operations above 100 ft AGL; rather than REQUIRED and only available up to 100 ft AGL. I was anticipating a 'red exclamation point' if inside the airspace; and LANCC authorization was required; rather than a 'Blue exclamation point'.I lost situational awareness; as I was relying on memory of the airspace; from flying manned aircraft. I made un assumption; based on the 'blue exclamation point'; that I was under the class B airspace with a floor of 3000ft AGL; about four blocks west of my actual position.Contributing factors were lack of experience with the software and inaccurate assumptions made about my position on the ground; based past experience flying manned aircraft in the area with onboard GPS; and TAC (Terminal Area Charts) charts. Airspace is depicted differently in AirControl.I have further reviewed the operating manual for AirControl software and how the LAANC requirements are depicted. I do not believe a recurrence is likely.
