Synopsis
Pilot departing a non-towered airport reported they were holding short of the runway when a landing aircraft passed a few feet directly overhead.
Narrative
Distracted upon takeoff; unusual climb gradient due to performance enhanced by cold air. I climbed much faster than usual. Distracted; while holding short for take off as a plane landed directly over top of my plane within feet of a collision. There is no grass strip in the FAA airport supplement; state directory; nor ZZZ; yet there is an informal grass strip immediately next to the paved runway used by some local tail draggers. When aircraft are on the taxiway or holding short of runway XX; common safety practice is to go around or land on the actual paved runway; not the informal grass strip. I expected landing traffic to land on the paved runway; since I was at the hold short line. The station air did not and crossed immediately overhead with just a few feet of clearance. As soon as he cleared the grass strip; I departed; but remained distracted for a few minutes as I was climbing I discovered I had climbed penetrating class C as I was departing to the north to ZZZ1. I saw no other aircraft and don't believe I was a conflict with any other aircraft at anytime. The floor of the airspace in that sector is 2000; field elevation is 425.
