A FE RPTR MAKES 2 STATEMENTS: THERE WAS A TCASII ALERT CALLING FOR A CLB; AND HIS CAPT OVERSHOT THE FINAL APCH COURSE AND LINED UP; BRIEFLY; ON THE PARALLEL RWY.

Narrative

WE WERE CLRED TO DSND AND MAINTAIN 11000 FT. APCH CTL POINTED OUT TFC FOR US; AN MLG IN A DEP CLB WITH A RESTRICTION TO MAINTAIN 10000 FT. THE MLG WAS AT OUR 12 O'CLOCK POS AND OPPOSITE DIRECTION. WE CALLED THE TFC IN SIGHT. A FEW SECONDS LATER; THE TCASII GAVE A TA 'TFC; CLB.' THE CAPT WAS THE FLYING PLT AND STARTED AN IMMEDIATE CLB. THIS ACTION TOOK US TO 11800 FT. TFC PASSED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT AND THE ATC FAC WAS ADVISED OF OUR CLB. APCH WAS CONTINUED TO DFW FOR A LNDG ON RWY 35R. THE CAPT WAS THE PF. DFW TWR VECTORED US IN ON A CLOSE-IN R BASE LEG TO RWY 35R. ONCE ON THE BASE LEG; TWR ASKED IF WE HAD THE FIELD IN SIGHT. THE COPLT CONFIRMED WITH THE CAPT THAT SHE HAD THE FIELD IN SIGHT; AND SHE CALLED YES 'FIELD IN SIGHT.' TWR CLRED US FOR THE VISUAL APCH. AT THIS POINT; BOTH THE FO AND MYSELF TOLD HER SHE NEEDED TO START THE TURN TO FINAL. SHE MUST HAVE MISIDENTED RWY 35R AND OVERSHOT FINAL. THE OVERSHOOT CARRIED US AS FAR AS THE FINAL APCH TO RWY 35L. TWR WAS ADVISED OF THE DEV. CORRECTION WAS MADE WITHOUT ANY TFC INCURSION; AND LNDG ON 35R WAS COMPLETED.
