GEAR UP LNDG AFTER ANIMAL STRIKE ON TKOF FROM NON TWR ARPT. ACFT PROCEEDED TO DEST ARPT.
Narrative
THE SITUATION WAS THIS: ON TKOF ROLL FROM A RANCH STRIP; ACFT CONTACTED ANIMAL. SUBSEQUENTLY CAUSED GEAR MALFUNCTION AND GEAR UP LNDG AT SAN ANTONIO INTL ARPT ON SEP/SUN/92. A HUNTING TRIP TO A RANCH LOCATED ON THE SAT VOR 230/63 STARTED AT APPROX XA00 HRS; SEP/SUN/92. WE LANDED ON THIS HARD SURFACE STRIP AND THE PAX DEPLANED FOR A DAY OF DOVE HUNTING. AFTER A DAY'S HUNT WE AGAIN BOARDED THE ACFT FOR THE RETURN FLT TO SAN ANTONIO. THE HR WAS APPROX XB00. THE RANCH FOREMAN DROVE THE LENGTH OF THE RWY TO CHK THE RWY FOR ANY FOREIGN OBJECTS OR ANIMALS. WE DECIDED THEN TO INITIATE THE TKOF ROLL AND AT APPROX 85 KIAS NOTICED ANIMALS ON THE RWY. IMMEDIATE BACK PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE YOKE AND THE ACFT RESPONDED AND BECAME AIRBORNE. JUST AFTER BECOMING AIRBORNE I FELT A SLIGHT THUD ON THE L SIDE OF THE ACFT. ALL INSTS WERE STABLE AND GEAR RETRACTED NORMALLY. UNEVENTFUL CLB WAS MADE TO 5500 FT AND WE RETURNED TO SAN ANTONIO. SAN ANTONIO APCH CLRED US FOR LNDG AND AT THAT TIME WE LOWERED THE GEAR. THE NOSE AND R MAIN LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE L GEAR. WE WENT THROUGH THE EMER PROCS FOR GEAR LOWERING; MADE A TOUCH AND GO ON THE GOOD GEAR ALL TO NO AVAIL. WE THEN DECIDED TO BURN OFF EXCESS FUEL AND LAND GEAR UP. SAN ANTONIO TWR ALERTED THE FIRE TRUCKS AND A LNDG WAS ACCOMPLISHED ON RWY 21 AT APPROX XB30 HRS. THE ACFT SLID TO A STOP ON THE RWY. NO FIRE WAS ENCOUNTERED AND ALL PAX WERE UNINJURED.
