CABIN ATTENDANT BEHAVIOR PERSONAL INJURY AFTER LNDG PROC ROLLOUT.

Narrative

TFC SEPARATION BTWN US AND A CORP ACFT PRECEDING WAS 3.5 MI. TFC WAS NOT IN SIGHT. IN VIEW OF POSSIBILITY OF GAR/LNDG SEPARATION/PRECEDING TFC CLRING RWY; WE NEGLECTED TO PROVIDE THE PA NOTIFICATION TO FLT ATTENDANTS OF LNDG ON A TIMELY BASIS. THEREFORE; WE GAVE NOTIFICATION AT 300-400 FT. SOME FLT ATTENDANTS WERE JUST BARELY STRAPPED IN AT TOUCHDOWN AS FAR AS I KNOW; (TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE) FOOD SVC CART CAME LOOSE UPON REVERSING. A FLT ATTENDANT TRIED TO GRAB IT; AND BRUISED HER WRIST BY BUMPING IT ON CART. INVARIABLY; THESE THINGS HAPPEN WHEN A MYRIAD OF OTHER EVENTS OR CIRCUMSTANCES ARE PRESENT. ATTN DIVERTED BY PARALLEL TFC; PRECEDING; UNSEEN TFC; NECESSITY FOR ABNORMAL ALT LOSS ON FINAL APCH. ON THE ADVANCED WDB PARTICULARLY; WE MAKE SO FEW LNDGS ON AN ANNUAL BASIS; IT'S DIFFICULT TO DEVELOP HABIT PATTERNS. BTWN 8/X/91 TO 8/Y/91; I'VE MADE 9 LNDGS. SIMULATOR CURRENCY ACCOUNTS FOR THE REST. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED; OUR COMPANY PROC FOR FLT ATTENDANT NOTIFICATION WHEN FLAPS ARE EXTENDED TO 10 DEGS IS OFTEN TIMES INAPPROPRIATE OR SEEMINGLY SO; FOR BEING SO FAR FROM TOUCHDOWN. I DON'T HAVE A PAT ANSWER FOR OUR LACK OF TIMELINESS IN ACCOMPLISHING THE LNDG CHK WHICH IS THE LAST LINK IN THE CHAIN. AS I'M SURE YOU'LL AGREE; HINDSIGHT IS ALWAYS 20/20.
