Synopsis
CL-300 flight crew reported a runway excursion during take-off roll due to a severe wind gust. Flight crew rejected the take-off and taxied back to the FBO.
Narrative
During take-off roll around 80 knots we were hit with an extremely high wind gust. This caused the left wing to rise with full aileron deflection causing the planes left main landing gear to veer off the runway into the grass on the left side of Runway XXR.I regained control of the plane on the center line while aborting the take-off.Pilot Not Flying called Tower with an aborted take-off call.We were instructed to taxi off Runway XXR on Taxiway 1 which we did.We were then instructed to stop and hold short of Taxiway 2 and hold for emergency vehicles to arrive.Emergency vehicles arrived for assistance. We informed Tower and the emergency vehicles that we were able to move on our own power. We were then given taxi instructions to taxi to FBO.Taxi was normal. Parked aircraft and spoke with the passengers and the emergency responders.Cause: Extreme wind gusts during takeoff roll.Suggestions: I don't know. After seeing multiple aircraft land; I did not anticipate any issues with the cross wind on takeoff.
Second reporter narrative
Holding Short of XXR Pilot Flying and I watched Aircraft Y land at ZZZ. We were cleared for takeoff on XXR. We entered the runway after checking the final approach area clear; finished our lineup checklist; and Pilot Flying verified everything before the takeoff roll. During the takeoff roll around 70-80 knots we were hit with an extremely high wind gust causing the left wing to lift up even with full aileron deflection causing the left main landing gear to veer off the runway into the grass on the left. Pilot Flying regained control of the aircraft and brought it to a stop on centerline. I called Tower at the earliest convenience to notify them of an aborted takeoff. We were asked by Tower if we needed assistance; but the aircraft was able to taxi under its own power as we made it off the runway and onto the taxiway. We held on the taxiway as the fire trucks rolled out for an inspection and ground cleared us to taxi back to the FBO.The taxi was normal and we parked. Medical personnel came on board to check on the passengers and everyone was in good health.Cause: Excessive wind gusts.Suggestions: I don't know. Lots of aircraft were landing before our takeoff.
