Synopsis
CE-700 flight crew reported damage to main gear tires after diverting to an alternate airport and landing during what may have been a microburst. Crew reported strong crosswind during landing placing a side load on aircraft despite flight control inputs.
Narrative
Ferry from ZZZ1 and ZZZ2 with a filed alternate ZZZ. During the descent to ZZZ2; ATC advised us of storm and strong winds at ZZZ2. The winds were over the aircraft limitations and after discussing with ATC we decided to land to our alternate. ATC acknowledged our choice as (if I recall correctly) the better option in the area". ZZZ APP gave us a short vector for the visual XXC.When we switched to ZZZ TWR they confirmed the ATIS wind as XXX 10G25 and we were cleared to land. After touchdown (XA:00) we experienced an unforeseen strong left gust; putting the plane in a side load situation to the right.I kept centerline; TR (Thrust Reverser) and Spoilers deployed and full left yoke deflection. The left wing kept rising during the roll out.We exited taxiway 1 to the ramp. After shutdown; we secured the plane per inclement weather procedure. We observed obvious damages to the right main outboard tire (later we read about damages on other tires). No wing strikes.Until touchdown wind were advertised gusting 25. After our landing; ATC issued a SPECI with peak wind at XX. After a short conversation with ZZZ GND; they said a microburst could have been our issue.Suggestion: Because weather degrading faster than forecasted in Location A and not a lot of extra fuel; we decided that ZZZ was the best place to divert."
Second reporter narrative
We experienced a direct crosswind microburst while landing. Kept aircraft under control through landing rollout; one damaged tire on outer right MLG (Main Landing Gear).Reposition flight from ZZZ1 to ZZZ2 uneventful until descent; requested deviations around cells of thunderstorms. ZZZ2 ATIS 1 advertised winds XXX/10ktG25; landing runway XY. ZZZ Approach advised recent report of 47kt crosswind at ZZZ2; at which point we decided to divert to ZZZ. Approach vectored us around isolated storm cells in VMC conditions at 3;000 ft MSL; cleared us for Visual approach XXC; and handed us off to ZZZ Tower. ZZZ ATIS 2 advertised winds XXX/10ktG25 and we were cleared to land runway XXC. Actual wind conditions changed rapidly on short final. We called for wind check on 2 mile final; tower repeated XXX/10ktG25. Crossing runway threshold was unusually turbulent; but PIC maintained positive control of the aircraft; on centerline with crab angle and gust factor airspeed. We landed XA:00 with full left aileron into the wind; fighting a heavy aircraft lean to the right; as crosswinds were lifting the left wing. We encountered a microburst in the last 50ft of landing. Minutes after we cleared the runway; ZZZ Tower released an ATIS SPECI.No wingtip strike; no damage observed besides damaged outer right MLG tire. We taxi'd safely to the ramp; contacted the Chief Pilot to advise we diverted from ZZZ2 to ZZZ; and experienced a microburst on landing; then proceeded to hotel.
