Synopsis

Ramp vehicle driver reported stopping to give way to an air carrier that was turning in front of them. The driver's vehicle was then hit by another ramp vehicle.

Narrative

I was traveling north on the VSR (Vehicle Service Road) between X and Y concourse crossing an active taxiway during the occurrence. I was in the right lane and there was another vehicle in the left lane. both vehicles came to a stop and checked for traffic before proceeding to cross the taxiway. Both myself and the truck departed at the same time; the truck traveling much faster across than vehicle could. Shortly after I proceeded to cross I noticed Aircraft X on my left travel past me heading north. The aircraft made a right turn to cross the roadway. I determined that I no longer had time to safely cross the taxiway in front of the aircraft. I braked and went to turn left to turn around and return back to the X concourse. At that time another vehicle was traveling north in the left lane behind me and our vehicles struck each other. As the accident occurred on an active taxiway I did not think freezing the scene to be safe and asked the other driver to follow me back to the a concourse. We both came to a stop at a gate and I went to find a supervisor asap.
