AN WDB CREW INJURED SEVERAL FLT ATTENDANTS WHEN THEY RAN THROUGH SOME TURB AT NIGHT.

Narrative

ON DSCNT TO HNL AT APPROX 10000 FT WE BEGAN TO ENCOUNTER TURB. THERE WAS SOME INDICATION OF LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS ON THE RADAR WITH LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS RPTED AT THE ARPT. TURB INCREASED TO HVY; MODERATE TO SEVERE AS WE CONTINUED DSCNT TO 7000 FT. RAIN WAS MODERATE. WE BROKE OUT OF THE MODERATE RAIN AND TURB SUBSIDED AFTER APPROX 1 TO 1 1/2 MINS. PRIOR TO ENCOUNTER HNL APCH CTL GAVE NO INDICATION OF SIGNIFICANT WX. DURING OUR RPTED ENCOUNTER; THEY DID INDICATE AN AREA OF WX AND GAVE US A SUGGESTED HDG APPROX 20 DEGS OFF COURSE TO CLR WX AREA. WE DID CLR MAIN AREA OF WX WITHIN APPROX 10 MI. ALL PAXS WERE SEATED DURING THE ENCOUNTER BUT SEVERAL FLT ATTENDANTS WHO WERE COMPLETING THEIR APCH CHKS RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 223876. RADAR WAS ON NO CELLS SHOWN; NO LIGHTNING IN CLOUDS OR FROM CLOUDS. MADE A PA PRIOR TO ENTERING TURB AND SAID THEY SHOULD BE IN THEIR SEAT WITH THE BELTS ON. FLT ATTENDANTS WERE NOT BUCKLED UP YET. RECEIVED BUMPS AND BRUISES. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 223593. AS WE SLOWED AND DSNDED TO 7000 FT; WE TOOK A MODERATE TO SEVERE JOLT WHICH INJURED 2 FLT ATTENDANTS WHO WERE NOT SEATED. PAXS WERE ALL STRAPPED IN.
