Synopsis

Air carrier flight crew reported a pneumatic bleed valve malfunction during climb. The crew returned to the departure airport and landed.

Narrative

We were assigned repo flight XXXX from ZZZ to ZZZ1 tail number Aircraft X; scheduled to depart at XA: 25. FO completed his walk around inspection while I got things ready in the flight deck. We noted the crew oxygen level was low and we asked maintenance to service the oxygen. After completing all appropriate checklists we departed on runway XX.On the takeoff roll; after 80 knots; the ATTCS (Automatic Takeoff Thrust Control System) showed a change to Takeoff Reserve 2. I decided to continue the takeoff since the engines were producing the target N1. On climb out somewhere between the surface and 3000' we got an amber eicas message Bleed 1 Overpressure". We asked for a heading and altitude; [requested priority handling]. We ran the QRH and that did not solve the problem. We also noticed some pressure on our ears and according to the eicas the cabin altitude was 3900' when we were level at 3000'. We realized there was an issue with the pressurization of the aircraft. We decided to return to land at ZZZ.My recommendation is to perform a flight test after a heavy inspection is completed before returning an aircraft to service."

Second reporter narrative

We were scheduled to ferry Aircraft Y from ZZZ to ZZZ1 on Day 0 after the aircraft returned to service from a heavy maintenance check.  Preflight; before start; after start; taxi; and before takeoff was normal.  During initial climb out we had an EICAS warning and Master waring for Bleed 1 overpressure. We [requested priority handling].  We ran the QRH for Bleed 1 overpressure.  We communicated with ATC and proceeded to return to ZZZ.  Taxied back to the hanger and shutdown the aircraft. CPT (Captain) and I were the only souls on board the aircraft.
