Synopsis

Air carrier wing walker reported a Ground Conflict; Critical during gate pushback when a company vehicle drove behind the pushback aircraft and ignoring verbal warnings. The event was a violation of driving on the ramp.

Narrative

I was part of the crew that was to reposition Aircraft X from Gate A to the hangar. I was in position as the left wing walker. As the aircraft was in motion during push back; a company Ramp Agent bag tug and single cart drove behind the aircraft. I had two lighted wands; one of which was held vertically above my head; a safety vest and the aircraft beacon was on. These practices were of no use as the Ramp Agent disregarded all; including verbal warnings. The aircraft was stopped by the super tug driver. The Ramp Agent continued driving behind aircraft towards Gate B. We resumed moving the aircraft to the hangar without further incident. The weather at the time was clear; sunny and dry. We were the only aircraft moving on that side of the concourse at that time.Cause: This event occurred due to a willful disregard for the rules of driving on the ramp. This event also continues to occur due to an unwillingness of the company and the ZZZ airport personnel to address the issue beyond an 'I'll look into it' answer.Suggestions: The company talks about accountability; yet does nothing. This is the third report I have filed since Day 0; regarding ground vehicles cutting off aircraft. Stop talking and start doing something. The company needs to take a safe workplace seriously.
