Synopsis

SF50 pilot reported an unusual odor developed in the cabin and the pilot diverted to the nearest suitable airport.

Narrative

I was the pilot-in-command of a [less than a year old] Cirrus SF50 G2+ Vision Jet on an IFR flight plan from ZZZ1 to ZZZ2. Departure from ZZZ1 occurred at approximately XA:15. We climbed to our filed cruise altitude of 15;000 feet MSL. Upon leveling off; I noticed that the environmental system was blowing cold air; so I adjusted the control to a warmer setting.Several minutes later; an unusual odor developed in the cabin; which was unexpected and concerning to both myself and my passenger. Unable to determine the source of the odor and concerned for the safety of the flight; I made the decision to divert to the nearest suitable airport; ZZZ. I [requested priority handling] with ZZZ Center; squawked 7700; and requested vectors to ZZZ.ZZZ Center issued a descent to 5;000 feet and vectored us for a visual approach to ZZZ. I was instructed to change to Advisory frequency and advised to notify Center upon landing. We encountered traffic in the pattern and had to circle once before final approach. Despite [requesting priority handling] on CTAF; pattern traffic did not yield priority. We landed safely at ZZZ at XA:43.After landing; I contacted ZZZ Center to report we were safely on the ground. I taxied to a safe location; shut down the aircraft; and exited immediately with my passenger. I conducted a thorough tactile and visual inspection of the aircraft; including the luggage compartment; engine area; and cabin; but was unable to locate the source of the odor.I contacted the Cirrus Aircraft AOG maintenance team and explained the situation. Based on our discussion; the issue was likely related to the environmental system. Cirrus advised disabling the environmental system and continuing the flight to a service center at my convenience. After concluding my inspection and consultation with Cirrus; I determined it was safe to proceed. We continued our flight under VFR conditions with the environmental system disabled. We departed ZZZ at XB:14 and landed at ZZZ2 at XB:40 without further incident.
