ATX PLT QUESTIONED BY ACI REF LOGBOOK ITEMS APPEARING AS ACFT MAINT DISCREPANCIES.
Narrative
SUBSEQUENT TO FLT I WAS QUESTIONED BY THE NEW COMPANY POI IN REGARD TO A SQUAWK BY MAINT. I HAD WRITTEN UP 2 ITEMS: ONE FOR A LOOSE TRIM SWITCH; AND ONE FOR A FAILING TURN AND BANK ON THE R SIDE IN AN SMA LOGBOOK. LATER I WAS QUESTIONED ABOUT A FAILED R SIDED GEAR PUMP; OF WHICH I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE. APPARENTLY SOMEONE HAD TOLD MAINT THAT THE ACFT I HAD BEEN FLYING WAS HAVING PROBLEMS. ACCORDING TO THE FAA THE PUMP SHAFT WAS SHEERED; BUT LATER MAINT INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD RUN THE R SIDE; THE HANDLE DID NOT RETURN IN 12 SECONDS; AND WAS REMOVED FOR INSPECTION. THE GEARS IN THE PUMP WERE FOUND TO BE INEFFECTIVE; HOWEVER THE SHAFT WAS NOT BROKEN. I WAS QUIZZED ABOUT MY CHKLIST HABITS AND WAS ASKED WHY I HAD NOT DISCOVERED THE 'FAILED ITEM.' I DESCRIBED MY NORMAL PROCS AND WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN WHY SOMEONE ELSE HAD INFORMED THE MECHANICS TO EVALUATE THE PUMP. I BELIEVE THE ITEM WOULD HAVE BEEN DRAWN TO ANYONE'S ATTN; HOWEVER; THE INSPECTOR WAS ALREADY THERE FOR ANOTHER PROBLEM AND THE DIRECTOR OF MAINT HAD IT OUT FOR ME FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON.
