Synopsis
PA-28 Flight Instructor reported the student pilot lost directional control during landing which resulted in a runway excursion.
Narrative
Airspeed 70; full flaps deployed. Aimed for just past the numbers. Landed and plane wasn't crabbed. As I applied brakes the plane it was slowing down - then started to abnormally pull to the left after wheels had touched down; I didn't apply full brakes to avoid turnover. Tried to correct with rudder and plane continued pulling to the left more than usual so applied medium brakes to slow down while allowing the plane to slow as it continued to pull to the left. I wanted the plane to be straight to apply more brakes and stop without possibility of turning plane over. As it continued to the left went off the runway just before Taxiway 1. Plane had turned 180 into the grass section off runway; facing landing traffic. I contacted tower immediately to tell them I had turned off runway. Relayed I was fine; no emergency. They sent fire and vehicles. I signed release for assistance to touch and tow the aircraft to the FBO. I gave my report to airport personnel and departure of ZZZ1 time; and approx land at ZZZ XA:00Z
Second reporter narrative
This incident occurred by my Student Pilot who also filed a report. I had authorized his long Solo cross country (61.109(a)(5)(ii); and this incident occurred during the first leg (ZZZ1 to ZZZ). Upon landing; according to the student; the airplane puller to the left on the rollout. The student attempted to make corrections back to centerline; but did not to be aggressive on the correction. The aircraft departed the runway into a the dirt/vegetation. The student was not hurt and the aircraft did not appear damaged in any way.
