Synopsis

767 flight crew reported engine fuel bypass EICAS light came shortly after departure. Flight diverted and landed uneventfully.

Narrative

Shortly after takeoff for flight # on [DATE] we received the R ENG FUEL BYPASS EICAS light multiple times. I was pilot monitoring (PM) and the Captain handed me the controls and radios. We continued to climb to FL200 and opted to hold while reviewing the QRH and talking to Dispatch/Maintenance Control. We elected to divert; and we discussed as a crew the need to jettison fuel. We held over ZZZZZ on the ZZZZZ1 departure and coordinated with ATC for fuel jettison. Due to the weather in the ZZZ area; we elected to divert to ZZZ1. That decision was not taken lightly; and we discussed it at length as a crew. There were several reasons we decided on ZZZ1; and they arelisted below.1. The weather at ZZZ was 1 ¾ vis with around 500 ft ceilings; rain; and winds of 320 at 142. 3. gusting 27.We were just over 50;000 lbs overweight for landing; and we knew we would be landinglong and very fast.Due to the gusty winds; our ref speed was just a few knots short of the flap relief system.Landing long; in gusty winds; in the rain; and possibly at flaps 20 was not a good idea. After landing in ZZZ1; we were held on the de-ice pad until personnel arrived to help us deplane.Just prior to getting taxi clearance to proceed to the gate; we had a medical situation that required us to ask for medics to meet us at the gate. The flight attendants (FAs) handled this situation while we taxied in.As an aside; I commend the Captain for his crew coordination; calm demeanor; and excellent handling of this situation.
