Narrative
I DEPARTED BETHEL; AK; ARPT WITH AN AIR TAXI TRIP TO THE VILLAGES OF EEK AND QUINHAGAK; AK. PRIOR TO DEP; THE ATIS WAS GIVING 300-500 VARIABLE OVCST. I HAD LANDED AT BETHEL ABOUT 30 MINS PRIOR TO MY DEP. COMING FROM THE SE AND I WAS DEPARTING TO THE SE. WHEN I CAME IN; BETHEL ATIS GIVING 300 FT OVCST. I ENTERED THE ZONE UNDER A SPECIAL AND AT 800 FT AGL; FREE OF CLOUDS. AS I BECAME ABEAM THE TWR ON MY DOWNWIND LEG I WENT TO 650 FT AGL AND CLR OF CLOUDS. WHEN I CAME IN; THE CEILING WAS BROKEN APPROX 1200 FT AGL AND VISIBILITY WAS GREATER THAN 20 MI UNTIL ENTERING THE ZONE. WITH THIS KNOWLEDGE AND CHKING WITH OUR STATION AT EEK AND QUINHAGAK WHERE THE WX WAS CLR AND GREATER THAN 20 MI; I DEPARTED. AFTER LIFTOFF AT BETHEL; I CLBED TO 500 FT AGL WHILE STILL IN THE ZONE AND WAS CLR OF CLOUDS; AFTER XING THE KUSKOWIA RIVER APPROX 5 MI OUT; I CLBED TO 1000 FT AND WAS WELL BELOW A BROKEN LAYER WITH 20 MI VISIBILITY AT 10 MI SE OF BETHEL I WENT INTO CLR SKY AND 30 MI VISIBILITY UNTIL I LANDED AT QUINHAGAK. I WAS ADVISED AFTER I LANDED AT QUINHAGAK THAT SOMEONE HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT MY FLT LEAVING BETHEL. AT NO TIME WAS I UNDER CONDITIONS THAT WERE NOT LEGAL; IN THE ZONE. I HAD 10 MI AND WAS CLR OF CLOUDS AND I KNEW WHEN I LEFT THE ZONE I WOULD BE IN GREATER THAN 1000 FT AND 20 MI VISIBILITY.
