Synopsis
Cessna 208B pilot reported rolling off the end of the runway after landing with excessive speed on a wet runway with a tailwind.
Narrative
I was flying Aircraft X from ZZZ1 to ZZZ; During the enroute portion weather was 600 overcast and visibility varied 3 to 5 miles. It was a normal VFR flight with some rain showers; which were limiting the visibility. Due to weather in ZZZ being 'special VFR' and me having plenty of experience doing it I decided to take the special instead of an IFR clearance. The current METAR in ZZZ was reporting 160@11 5SM -RA BR OVC006. On my way inbound I requested a special VFR from Tower as per normal; when I received my special clearance I received an additional request of 'maintain max forward speed' in which I confirmed and complied with. On my way inbound I started pulled power to idle about a mile from the runway knowing I had a lot of energy coming inbound; upon receiving my landing clearance my wind report from Tower from my memory was 9kts total. I planned to land at [taxiway] 1 and get off on 2; which I touched down right around 1 and immediately retracted flaps and put it into low idle; immediately putting the plane in reverse and applying brakes. As I approached 2 and was rolling fast; while in full reverse; while attempting to use full brakes; I noticed something was wrong. I knew there was only so much runway remaining and at this point and a go-around was not an option; due to runway remaining and time it would take for the engine to spool from reverse to full power. As I kept rolling I decided to shut down the engine prior to hitting the runway lighting system and veered to the left to avoid the approach lighting system and as many obstacles as possible. As I hit the wet gravel the plane began to finally come to a full stop. After we came to a stop I turned around and asked my two passengers onboard if they were ok; both stated they were alright and afterwards I explained that there was an issue with the brakes and that someone would be over to grab them shortly. Afterwards I talked to Tower about the situation and they sent state vehicles over. I then called Person A; I wasn't able to reach him; so I then called Person B and explained the situation. I opened the door to see if I smelled anything; and did not smell burning rubber; or sizzling from the brakes or tires. Once the passenger van came over we got the tail stand in; and got the passengers out; and left everything else on the airplane until further notice. I stayed at the airplane and was talking to authorities; and Person B; later on authorities texted me and said that they determined that the damage to the plane was minimal and didn't require any further investigation from them; and that's when our Maintenance came out to move the plane to the ramp.Cause: The rush of trying to get in before the IFR arrivals; mixed with taking about a 10kt tailwind; and the plane not stopping with the use of brakes and reverse.Suggestions: I think to prevent this from happening again; I should've said 'unable' to Tower about the max forward speed and trying to get into the delta using a tailwind; or I could have just picked up an IFR clearance. By not taking the tailwind and instead going to the hold; and waiting until the IFR traffic landed; I would've had the headwind to assist in slowing me down and not had the rush of trying to get in before the IFR traffic inbound. Even if I had the issues braking using XXR; I would have had more options and time to stop or make a go-around decision.
