Synopsis

B737 flight crew reported left elevator pitot tube malfunction during cruise affecting other aircraft systems. Flight diverted and made an overweight landing.

Narrative

While in cruise flight approaching the ZZZZZ intersection we received a Master Caution for the L ELEV PITOT. We performed the QRH; which basically stated 'remain clear of icing conditions'.Next I attempted to contact our dispatcher. There was some difficulty since another flight was also using the same frequency. Eventually we were able to talk with our dispatcher and with Maintenance Control. I wanted to make sure we were able to continue to ZZZ. Maintenance Control and dispatch concluded that the return flight wouldn't be able to avoid icing conditions on its return. A decision to divert to ZZZ1 was made and while that happened we got another Master Caution for FLT CONT. The ELEV FEEL PRESS DIFF light was illuminated. We ran the QRH and noted the notes regarding no autoland; auto pilot disconnection and more elevator pressure required in the flare. At this time we decided to request priority handling and turned direct to ZZZ1. We were going to land approximately 2-3000lbs overweight in ZZZ1. Our dispatcher informed Maintenance Control and sent landing data for [Runway] XXL at 159.7lbs. I gave the FA's the briefing and made a PA to the passengers informing them of our situation. We reviewed the overweight landing guidance. We performed a flaps 30; auto brakes 3; with a Vref 155KIAS on runway XXl in ZZZ1. We did have fire rescue standing by since it was an overweight landing and we had them inspect the gear/brakes after landing. We were able to taxi into the gate under our own power.

Second reporter narrative

During the cruise phase the 'L ELEV PITOT' caution light illuminated with an associated master caution while we started north deviations for weather along our route. We ran the QRH for this light. After we ran the checklist the CA contacted Dispatch and Maintenance Control and together the decision was made to divert to ZZZ2; very shortly after we were told the diversion airport changed to ZZZ1 which we both agreed with the plan. While all this was happening a second caution light illuminated; the 'FEEL DIFF PRESS' with an associated master caution. We completed the appropriate QRH. The CA and I made the decision to request priority handling and communicated that to ATC and dispatch. Also during this time when both master cautions illuminated we were on deviations around weather which was IMC conditions and thus the atmospheric conditions resulted in some trace icing. We were able to exit the icing conditions when we turned to the north to ZZZ1. The FEEL DIFF PRESS caution disappeared shortly after exiting IMC conditions. Flying to ZZZ1 we knew we would be making an over weight landing by approximately 2000 lbs. We reviewed the FM overweight landing pages. We did request emergency vehicles meet and inspect the aircraft after we landed in ZZZ1. When we landed in ZZZ1 we pulled off XXL onto taxiway 1 then onto 2 and held short of taxiway 3 while the emergency vehicles inspected the aircraft and landing gear. They said they did not observe any smoke or fire and told us they would follow us to the gate. We continued the taxi to the gate without incident. Appropriate ELB entries were made.
