Synopsis
Cessna pilot reported after landing left of the runway centerline; overcorrected the rudder input resulting in a runway excursion.
Narrative
I had came back from the practice area and was set up to land like usual. When flying by myself; I tend to sit in the middle of the seat due to the legroom in the Cessna 152 since I'm a taller guy. I always make sure to sit back in the left seat during the critical phases of flight such as landing and takeoff however; I forgot this time. As I was landing I was left of center line and decided to correct it with the right rudder not knowing that my right foot was rested on the left rudder of the right seat. As I applied rudder I noticed the plane moved to the left and quickly decided to overcorrect it with right rudder. As I added too much right rudder; I swerved off the runway and into the grass. I quickly communicated with ATC and got off the grass and onto the runway neither me; or the aircraft sustained damage from this I do understand; however; that a small mistake like this could lead to catastrophe thankfully it didn't this time. I communicated with my CFI and made sure to check the aircraft during the shutdown I deeply apologize for my actions and take 100% accountability. I understand as PIC that I have responsibilities that I must follow and will make sure that this won't ever happen again.
