Synopsis

B737-800 First Officer reported an unstable approach and go-around.

Narrative

After a long 3 leg day; the last leg was delayed due to weather in ZZZ and an airspace closure. ATC modified our flight plan to avoid the area. This delay and reroute added 2 hours of flying time and was within 30 mins of our MOT (Minimum Off Time). On the first approach into ZZZZ; a delay in landing clearance and flying in and out of weather was distracting enough to where we were not properly configured (flaps 15 vice 30) for landing. After the GA (Go Around); we were vectored around for another approach and cleaned up our configuration. Could not get the autopilot to engage. There were other writeups for the CA flight director disappearing and the HUD (Head-up Display) was inop. On the second approach; the flight director crosshairs were aligned approaching the final approach fix while IMC when we broke out of the weather inside of the FAF; we were high on final and had to make an aggressive correction to get back on profile. On shutdown and power shift from the engines to APU; and then again from the APU to ground power; the flight director panel displayed 50;000 feet. This happened twice.Cause: Increase spacing between aircraft into ZZZZ. Delayed landing clearance was a factor in late configuration. Have maintenance review maintenance logbook for avionics concerns with HUD and FD (Flight Director) .
