Synopsis
AT6A pilot reported loss of control on landing due to wind resulted in wing impacting the runway. Pilot reported no damage and was able to taxi to tie down.
Narrative
I was landing my AT-6A at ZZZ at approximately XA50 on Day 0. Weather was clear and very windy. As I approached from the east I listened to the AWOS on XXX.XX. It was 'staticky' however; I heard winds were variable 17 kts gusting to 23 kts. I entered a left base to runway XX with no other aircraft in the pattern. On final I saw the windsock that was showing a right quartering cross wind of about 60 degrees off the nose of the airplane. I landed in a 'three point landing' no bounce and the airplane tracked down the center line. After about three seconds with right aileron and left rudder inputs in for cross wind the nose started to turn to the right of center line. I applied full left rudder to keep the airplane from turning further right. The airplane then made a hard left turn and the right wind impacted the runway. The airplane came to a stop facing 90 degrees to the runway center line. I turned the airplane around on the runway and taxied to the FBO and tied the airplane down.I am the owner of the plane. No property damage to the airport. No injury. I was the only person on board.
