Synopsis
Air taxi Captain reported receiving two Terrain Warnings while being vectored by ATC.
Narrative
Terrain warning. While being radar vectored with ZZZ approach at 3000 feet and approximately 30 nms west of ZZZ; I announced to the SIC (Second in Command) that the Radio Altimeter was alive and that we appeared to be over a rising ridge line. Terrain out to the left and at around 12 miles was 2400 feet which put us around 600 above that specific terrain. The present height above ground was around 1800 feet when the first of two EGPWS (Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System) mode 2 aural Terrain" warnings were issued. This warning was momentary and as we continued on the heading of 030 we agreed to ask ATC for a vector to the right so to mitigate being over the ridge line; when the second "terrain" warning was sounded. In a very timely manner; ATC then assigned us a new heading of 050 deg; which was a perfect outcome as that mitigated the said terrain which was confirmed by the Radio Altimeter being no longer displayed on the PFD (Primary Flight Display). At no stage do we impinge the minimum obstacle clearance height requirements. We continued without any further events to ZZZ and flew the runway XX RNAVCause: ATC vectoringSuggestions: Share the findings with ATC and review Flight Aware track to assist in refining the track and vectoring altitude over the terrain that's approximately 30 mile to the west of ZZZ"
