Synopsis
Flight Attendant reported an escape slide malfunction. Maintenance was called and passengers deplaned.
Narrative
I was assigned doors 2L and 2R for this flight. I armed both of my doors; cross checked myself. Both slide lights were illuminated. Then myself and the purser cross checked each other. I went up to look at doors 1 L and R and they came back to look at doors 2 L and R then we performed the all call. Before landing when I went to sit at 2L I noticed that the slide light at 2L was no longer illuminated so I immediately informed the purser that it wasn't illuminated but obviously didn't know how long ago the light turned off. After landing she had everyone remain seated when we got to the gate and she came to observe me disarm 2L. It gave a little resistance and the arming lever wouldn't go to the right side enough for the green disarmed placard to come down all the way. The Captain came out and I then armed the door again. It armed fine and the slide light did illuminate again. The Captain had me try one more time but the same thing happened so then he tried once and had the same thing happen as well. He armed it again and told us he would contact maintenance. The Captain called back and asked us to disarm all other doors so that maintenance could come on so we did and completed our all call. I stayed by my armed 2L door until maintenance came in through 2R. They attempted to disarm door and continued to take off the slide cover and noticed that something wasn't right. They said it was ok enough to open the door in disarmed position for us to deplane through 2L and that they would take it to the hangar to fix it.
