Second reporter narrative
I am writing this report for the actions of Captain A on flight from ZZZ to ZZZ1. Catering did not provide us with the first class meals; including planned crew meals. We were trying to coordinate with catering before door closure to get the meals delivered; but a supervisor decided we can go without them and the MCD (Main Cabin Door) was closed by Gate Agent. During the safety video; catering pulled up to the 1R door and cracked the armed door before closing it; once they realized it was armed. At this time; the purser used the interphone to call the captain. I was assigned the 2L door and I was listening to the conversation between the purser and the captain on the phone. The purser informed the captain that the door was cracked while it was armed. He showed no concern and his response was 'Well I will call ops to get catering to come back because we want our crew meals.' He did not make any effort to see the door or slide's condition after the purser asked what next steps should be. Catering returned and the door was open with no issue after all doors were disarmed. We armed after catering brought the meals and the captain pushed back from the gate without checking the door or slide pack after the information was given to him about the situation. During flight; we decided as a crew that when we land in ZZZ1; we want maintenance to check the slide pack and to be present while they assessed the slide. The pilots deplaned immediately after the door opened in ZZZ1; showing no concern for the slide pack. When maintenance arrived in ZZZ1; the first thing he said was that we never should have left ZZZ with the slide pack looking the way it did. The captain showed no support over our concern for the slide pack and was focused on getting his crew meals rather than the safety of everyone on board.
