Synopsis

A general aviation pilot reported that the runway and taxiway lights are missing at EKA airport.

Narrative

I would say that Murray Field airport (both runways) is dangerous and unusable after dark due to the absence of most of the lights. On runway 30; only the left side of the runways is lit. There are no lights on the right side so making a normal left downwind landing is difficult because all the pilot has is one line of lights. The taxiway lights a mostly missing as well. It took me three attempts to land because the first run; there's no way to know which side of the lights the actual runway is on until the landing lights show the numbers (or lack there of). I was literally flying left or right of the line of lights to search for the numbers. Also; the lights appear to only have one intensity (high) when trying to adjust the lighting with the radio. Also; because of the lack of taxiway lights; there's no indicators for the pilot to judge on downwind the nature of the runway so it must be done strictly by the numbers. In my opinion; this is an extremely dangerous airport to land on after dark.
