Narrative

Clear Skies; Unlimited Vis; TAF VPS 00000KT 9999 SKC QNH3000INS Winds at altitude were from the Southwest at 10-15 kts. During pattern operations at XA:20-XA:56 we were in the IFR VOR-A approach and then joined a Left Downwind for 35 at CEW; There was a known student pilot solo approaching the area planning on a 35 pattern. Other fixed wing aircraft had stated they were using Runway 35. Two helicopters continued out of Runway 17 approaches to land 17 ('sidestep to the taxiway). One other helicopter used 35 left pattern and additional helicopters used the right downwind. Student pilot crossed above the field and entered a textbook (FAR) teardrop to join left downwind for 35. On the second of three patterns; we had a close pass with a helicopter that left an instrument approach for 17; and then climbed to pattern altitude and joined downwind for 35 at 1000A. This was with call-sign Aircraft Y. Time XA:52. We had a Second Traffic Advisory on turn in to short approach from the left hand pattern with a helicopter from the right downwind who turned in to 'land on the taxiway.' Aircraft Z. Time was about 4 minutes later.
