Synopsis
A300 flight crew reported the failure of the landing gear to extend on final approach. Crew referenced checklist and landed safely at destination.
Narrative
While on the ILS XX into ZZZ; the landing gear would not extend. The Captain was pilot flying and I was pilot monitoring. We tried a few times to extend the gear and tried swapping from system 1 to system 2; but landing gear still would not extend. Told ZZZ tower we needed to go-around; due to gear issue. Landing clearance was then cancelled and we executed a go-around and decided to go hold at ZZZZZ fix for the ILS XX. We accomplished the Landing Gear Gravity Extension QRH and successfully extended the landing gear. Hydraulic pressure/output remained normal throughout the entire event. We notified ZZZ Operations about our situation and the need for a tug; due to nose wheel steering becoming inoperative. We calculated our fuel burn with gear extended and decided ZZZ was going to be the landing destination still due to increased fuel burn to any other feasible alternate. We had ZZZ Operations call Dispatch to notify them of the situation and our intent to continue landing in ZZZ; as sending an ACARS message would have caused more time to elapse and fuel to be burned in case another missed approach would have been necessary. We requested priority handling and landed in ZZZ. Stopped the aircraft on Runway XX and had Fire/Rescue inspect the landing gear condition while we waited for a tow into the ramp. No damage was noted by Fire/Rescue. Maintenance hooked up the tow; installed gear pins and towed us to the gate. We then cancelled the priority handling with ZZZ tower.Cause: The landing gear failed to extend in normal operation with system 1or 2 selected.
Second reporter narrative
During final approach; landing gear would not extend after multiple attempts and switching from system 1 to 2. Executed go around to hold while executing the landing gear gravity extension checklist. Requested priority handling; performed ils approach and landed runway XX and stopped on the runway due to no nose wheel steering. Priority handling vehicles inspected aircraft; no issues found; towed in from runway.
