RWY EXCURSION BY ACR MLG IN TAXI PROC PREPARING FOR TKOF.

Narrative

WE TAXIED OUT OF THE GATE FOLLOWING DEICE/ANTI-ICE PROCS. VEHICLES ON THE TXWY BLOCKED US BRIEFLY AND WE WENT BEYOND THE DEICE HOLDOVER TIME AND HAD TO RECEIVE DEICING AT THRESHOLD. DSM TWR WAS RPTING LIGHT RAIN; 19 DEGS F; 8 MI VISIBILITY AND WIND 080/09. RWY 13L RPTED CLR; SANDED AND SPRAYED; BRAKING ACTION FAIR BY LNDG ACFT. WHILE SLOWLY TAKING RWY 13L FOR TKOF; THE NOSE GEAR LOST TRACTION AND ACFT SKIDDED TO R SIDE OF RWY. ACFT RECEIVED NO DAMAGE AND NO PAX OR CREW INJURY. NO ARPT DAMAGE. AFTER A LONG WAIT BUSSES WERE SENT TO TAKE OUR PAX BACK TO TERMINAL AND WE HAD ACFT TOWED BACK TO THE GATE. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: FREEZING RAIN; LATE TWR DISCOVERY OF BRAKING ACTION. IT WAS DISCOVERED BY OUR INABILITY TO HOLD ANY TRACTION ON RWY. CORRECTIVE ACTION: ARPT IMMEDIATELY RESANDED AND SPRAYED RWY. MY PERCEPTIONS: I WILL BE MUCH MORE HESITANT TO LEAVE THE GATE IN THE FUTURE WITH FREEZING RAIN CONDITIONS. FORTUNATELY; NO ONE WAS HURT AND NO 'METAL BENT;' BUT I WILL BE MORE AWARE OF RWY CONDITIONS AND SANDING OR CLRING INTERVALS IN THE FUTURE.
