Synopsis
PA28 pilot reported loss of electrical system during cruise. Flight continued to destination and landed without incident.
Narrative
I was conducting a short 35 minute VFR flight from ZZZ1 to ZZZ using ZZZ TRACON for traffic advisories and Class B entry clearance. Approximately 10 minutes prior to landing my airplane lost it's complete electrical system. I was no longer able to communicate with the TRACON and would be unable to contact ZZZ Control Tower. I immediately descended to remain below the Class B airspace and proceeded to ZZZ VFR at about 3;500 feet altitude. I entered the left hand pattern for Runway XXL and made a full square pattern about 2000 feet above pattern altitude. I then performed the emergency landing gear extension procedure. Next I descended to the actual pattern altitude of 1400 feet and was hoping to see steady green light signals from the Control Tower indicating I was cleared to land. I never did see the light signals but there appeared to be no preceding traffic for Runway XXL so I continued descending and landed without incident. After landing I cleared the runway and followed an administration vehicle to a safe parking area. I phoned the Control Tower and they mentioned the last 2 lost communication aircraft that had come in to the airport in the last few weeks were also unable to see their light signals and suspected the equipment was too dim to see in bright sunlight. They mentioned no loss of separation had occurred between myself and any other aircraft and that no follow up would be necessary.
