MDT HAS GEAR DOOR POP OPEN INFLT.
Narrative
FLT FROM LIT-IAH; TOOK OFF FROM LIT. WHILE IN THE ENRTE CLB ALL SYS WERE WORKING NORMALLY. WE LEVELED OFF AT OUR CRUISING ALT OF 16000 FT. I (THE CAPT) STARTED TO MAKE THE PA TO TURN OFF THE SEAT BELT SIGN WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND. I DIDN'T FEEL OR NOTICE ANY VIBRATIONS OR ABNORMALITIES WITH THE ACFT SO I CONTINUED WITH MY PA. AFTER I WAS DONE WITH THE PA; THE FLT ATTENDANT CALLED AND SAID THAT A PAX HAD ASKED HER IF THAT DOOR STICKING STRAIGHT OUT WAS NORMAL. THE DOOR THE PAX WAS TALKING ABOUT WAS THE L MAIN GEAR DOOR. SHE SAID SHE COULD SEE IT OUT THE L SIDE WINDOWS. I WENT BACK AND TOOK A LOOK AT IT AND SURE ENOUGH THE L MAIN GEAR DOOR WAS STICKING STRAIGHT OUT. WHILE ENRTE I CALLED MAINT AND TOLD THEM OF MY PROB. MAINT ADVISED ME TO CONTINUE TO IAH. ONCE I LANDED AND TAXIED OFF THE RWY MAINT WAS WAITING FOR ME TO LOOK AT THE DOOR. THEY WIRED THE DOOR UP SO IT WOULDN'T RUB AGAINST THE TIRES AS WE TAXIED TO THE GATE. BEFORE WE TAXIED TO THE GATE WE DEPLANED ALL THE PAX AND PUT THEM ON BUSSES.
