ACR CLRED TO TAXI BY GND PERSONNEL. DEICE TRUCK STILL BEHIND ACFT.

Narrative

WE PUSHED BACK FROM GATE APPROX 100 YARDS FOR OFF-GATE DEICING. GND PERSONNEL UNHOOKED THE TUG; DROVE IT BACK TO THE GATE; GOT THE DEICING TRUCK AND STARTED TO DEICE BEGINNING WITH ACFT R. THE GND PERSON IN CHARGE OF DEICING THEN PLUGGED INTO THE EXTERNAL INTERPHONE. THE CAPT REQUESTED THE TYPE AND MIX OF FLUID; PAYROLL NUMBER; AND TIME DEICING COMMENCED. THE GND PERSON THEN UNPLUGGED; RAN INTO OPS FOR APPROX 3 MINS; CAME BACK TO THE ACFT PLUGGED IN AND SAID 'DEICING BEGAN AT XX45; 50/50 MIX TYPE I; PAYROLL NUMBER XXXX.' THE CAPT ACKNOWLEDGED. THE GND PERSON UNPLUGGED; WALKED TO THE FRONT OF THE AIRPLANE AND GAVE THE ENG START SIGNAL. THE CAPT AND I THEN COMPLETED THE BEFORE START CHK; STARTED BOTH ENGS AND ACCOMPLISHED THE AFTER START CHK AND THEN CALLED FOR TAXI. THE GND PERSON WAVED US OFF FOR TAXI; TURNED AROUND AND WALKED BACK TO THE GATE. WE WERE NOT CLOSE TO ANY AIRPLANES OR JETWAYS SO A WING WALKER WAS NOT REQUIRED; SO WE TAXIED AWAY FROM THE DEICE AREA. UNBEKNOWNST TO US; THE DEICE TRUCK WAS STILL BEHIND THE ACFT. GND PERSON SHOULD NOT HAVE TOLD US WE WERE CLR TO TAXI.
