FLC OF ACR WDB ACFT DEVIATED FROM ASSIGN OCEANIC TRACK DUE TO LEAVING IN THE ACFT NAVIGATIONAL FLT COMPUTER THE WRONG GATEWAY ENTRY FIX.
Narrative
FLT NUMBER USING 3 INS UNITS WAS ALLOWED TO FLY TO INCORRECT GATEWAY WAYPOINT ARRIVING IN HONOLULU FROM AUKLAND; NZ. COMPUTER STORED FLT PLAN CALLS FOR WAYPOINT ALLEMO AFTER DOUGY ON G347 NBOUND. PROPER WAYPOINT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PADDI. BOTH WAYPOINTS ARE IN THE STORED PORTION OF THE RTE CATALOG. PROPER PLT ACTION WOULD HAVE BEEN TO DELETE NIEMO AND FLY FROM DOUGY TO PADDI AS THE ATC CLRNC DICTATED. THIS WAS OMITTED AND ACFT FLEW TO NIEMO INSTEAD CAUSING A 60 NM N OF CLRED TRACK ERROR. FLT WAS GIVEN VECTORS BY HNL ATC AND LANDED SAFELY WITH NO OTHER PROBS. THERE WAS ALSO NO CONFLICT WITH ANY OTHER TFC I AM AWARE OF. MY SUGGESTION WOULD BE TO DELETE ALL GATEWAY WAYPOINTS IN THE STORED MEMORY AND REQUIRE CREW TO LAND LOAD GATEWAY TO ARPT WAYPOINTS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 235923: I BELIEVE WE SHOULD HAVE DELETED THE WAYPOINT ON PRE-DEP AND JUST HAD THE FILED RTE IN THE INV SEQUENCE OF WAYPOINTS. IF WE HAD BEEN RECLRED WE COULD EASILY HAVE RE-ENTERED THE WAYPOINT INSTEAD OF RELYING ON MEMORY TO DELETE THE WAYPOINT IF IT WAS NOT NEEDED ONCE WE GOT TO THAT POINT.
