Narrative
FLT FROM PALMA DE MALLORCA; SPAIN (LEPA) TO GERONA; SPAIN (LEGE) TO ZURICH; SWITZERLAND (LSZH). PRIOR TO DEPARTING LEPA THE PLT CHKED NOTAMS FOR LEGE AND LSZH. THE PLT WAS ADVISED THAT LSZH WAS A 24-HR ARPT. WHILE ENRTE; THE PLT CONTACTED LEGE RADAR AND WAS ADVISED THAT LSZH APCH WAS CALLING. CHANGING TO LSZH APCH FREQ; THE PLT WAS ADVISED TO FLY DIRECT EKRON INTXN. UPON REACHING EKRON; APCH ADVISED THE PLT THAT IT WAS TOO LATE TO LAND AT LSZH. PLT WAS THEN GIVEN A CLRNC TO LEGE. ENRTE TO LEGE; LSZH APCH ADVISED THE PLT THAT LEGE APCH WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE FLT. LSZH APCH NOW CLRED THE PLT TO BASEL. ENRTE TO BASEL; LSZH APCH ADVISED THE PLT THAT BASEL WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE ACFT. LSZH APCH THEN ASKED THE PLT FOR FUEL RESERVE. THEY WERE ADVISED THAT THE ACFT HAD 1 1/2 HRS FUEL REMAINING (APPROX RANGE 225 MI WITH NO RESERVES). LSZH APCH THEN REQUESTED THE PLT'S INTENTIONS. AT THAT TIME; THE PLT DECLARED AN EMER. THE ACFT WAS ALLOWED TO LAND AT LSZH. ON GND TIME WAS XX40 LCL TIME. PLT WAS ADVISED THAT THE ARPT IS CLOSED TO GA AT XX00 AND THAT LCL ACR CAN LAND UNTIL PM00 LCL. ALSO; THAT THE ARPT IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED BTWN MIDNIGHT AND 0600 HRS. IN ORDER THAT THIS SIT NOT OCCUR AGAIN; IT IS THIS PLT'S RECOMMENDATION THAT WHENEVER FLYING OVERSEAS (ESPECIALLY INTO UNFRIENDLY TOWARD UNITED STATES ACFT COUNTRIES) THAT THE PLT HAVE A SOURCE OF INFO (A HANDLING COMPANY; ETC) THAT CAN ADVISE HIM OF ANY UNPUBLISHED RESTRICTIONS.
