ACR WDB TAIL SKID STRUCK RWY DURING LNDG ROLLOUT CAUSING ONLY MINOR SKIN DAMAGE.

Narrative

DURING LNDG; AFTER TOUCHDOWN; GLA TWR RPTED POSSIBLE TAIL SKID CONTACT WITH RWY. THIS WAS SURPRISING TO US. AUTO BRAKES WERE SET AT 2. AUTO SPOILERS WERE USED. I DID NOT USE TRIM IN THIS FLARE TO ARREST DSCNT RATE. TRIM SETTING WAS SET AT 7 UNITS UP AFTER LNDG. APCH WAS STABLE. TOUCHDOWN WAS SMOOTH. THERE WAS A SLIGHT NOSE UP PITCH AFTER TOUCHDOWN. FLT ATTENDANTS IN REAR OF ACFT DID NOT RPT ANYTHING ABNORMAL DURING LNDG OR ROLLOUT. FELT AS THOUGH AUTO BRAKES WERE SLOW TO ENGAGE WITH BRAKING ACTION. SUBSEQUENT FLT RPTED AUTO BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE AT ALL. POST-FLT REVEALED PAINT MISSING FROM TAIL SKID PAD. PAD WAS STILL INTACT. NO DAMAGE WAS FOUND BY MAINT INSPECTION. ACFT WAS IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO SVC. REQUESTED THAT LOADING OF ACFT BE CONFIRMED DURING OFF LOADING. SOME DISCREPANCIES FOUND. FILLED OUT LOGBOOK AND APPROPRIATE COMPANY FORMS. THE NORMAL NOSE UP PITCH CAUSED BY AUTO SPOILER DEPLOYMENT WAS NOT COUNTER BALANCED BY NORMAL AUTO BRAKE ENGAGEMENT WHICH POSSIBLY RESULTED IN TAIL SKID CONTACT WITH THE RWY.
