AN SMA PLT LIFTED THE GEAR HANDLE ON ROLLOUT COLLAPSING THE NOSE GEAR.
Narrative
THE FINAL LNDG OF AN IFR FINAL STAGE CHK WAS WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. I AM A PRIVATELY LICENSED PLT PURSUING A COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATE WITH AN INST RATING. WANTING TO EXCEL IN THE ORAL EXAMINATION PORTION OF MY STAGE CHK; I MADE THE MISTAKE OF NOT GETTING THE NECESSARY SLEEP REQUIRED TO BE COMPETENT DURING THE FLT. KNOWING THIS; I ELECTED TO CONTINUE THE FLT AFTER WHAT I FELT WAS AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE IN A QUITE LENGTHY ORAL. MY PERFORMANCE WAS OBVIOUSLY BELOW NORMAL. AFTER SEVERAL INST APCHS; WE BEGAN THE LAST WHICH WAS AN NDB CIRCLING APCH. ABEAM THE NUMBERS; AND WITH THE AID OF A CHKLIST; I BEGAN A PREPARATION FOR A DSCNT. ON FINAL; MY INSTRUCTOR ASKED ME IF I COULD SEE A GEAR AS WE HAD A GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION. I CONFIRMED THIS. AFTER TOUCHDOWN I BEGAN TO MOVE THE GEAR HANDLE UP IN THE SMA. MY INSTRUCTOR IMMEDIATELY MOVED THE HANDLE TO THE DOWN POS BUT THE ACFT HAD ALREADY TOUCHED DOWN; BENDING THE PROP AND DENTING THE GEAR DOORS. HE SHUT THE ACFT DOWN WITH NO INJURIES; FIRES; OR OTHER DAMAGE. MAINT ARRIVED QUICKLY; EXTENDED THE GEAR. THE ACFT WAS REMOVED FROM THE RWY WHICH WAS NOT CLOSED.
