MULTIPLE RWY OP PARALLEL RWYS. ACR X TCASII RA FROM ACR Y ON VISUAL APCH TO PARALLEL RWY. SEE AND AVOID CONCEPT.

Narrative

ACR REQUESTED RWY 26L UPON INITIAL CONTACT WITH APCH CTL. WE WERE GIVEN RADAR VECTORS TO RWY 26L; DEN LNDG BOTH RWYS 26L AND R. OUR ALT WAS 9000 FT WHEN WE CALLED ARPT IN SIGHT. CTLR GAVE A FINAL VECTOR AND CLRED US THE VISUAL. CTLR CALLED ACR Y INBOUND TO RWY 26R HAD US IN SIGHT. OUR POS WAS APPROX 8 NE. BEGAN DSCNT OUT OF 9000. TCASII ISSUED TA. AT 8300 FT; CTLR TOLD US TO STOP OUR DSCNT; TCASII ISSUED AN RA. VERT SEPARATION APPROX 800 FT. ACR Y WAS XING UNDER US TO GO TO RWY 26R. CAPT GOT THE XING TFC IN SIGHT; THEREFORE; NO OTHER EVASIVE ACTION WAS TAKEN. IT WAS A CONFUSING SIT. DEN DEPT US HIGH; APPARENTLY FOR THE APCH PATH OF RWY 26R; AND THEY VECTORED US INTO THE ARPT QUITE TIGHT. WE WERE THEN CLRED THE VISUAL APCH PRIOR TO XING RWY 26R'S APCH PATH. WE WERE NOT ISSUED AN ALT RESTRICTION NOR TFC TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE TFC GOING TO RWY 26R HAD US IN SIGHT. THE TCASII ALERT WAS UNEXPECTED; BUT SINCE THE CAPT WAS ABLE TO SIGHT ACR Y; NO OTHER EVASIVE ACTION WAS TAKEN OTHER THAN THAT DIRECTED BY THE CTLR.
