Narrative
I DEPARTED SCOTTSDALE; AZ; ON AN IFR FLT PLAN IN AN SMT ACFT. UPON MAKING MY TURNOUT TO FLY A HDG OF 300 DEGS; I RETRACTED THE LNDG GEAR. DURING THE RETRACTION; THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYS QUIT AND I HAD NO INDICATION FROM THE GEAR INDICATOR LIGHTS WHETHER IT HAD RETRACTED. I LEVELED AT 5000 FT AS WAS PRESCRIBED IN MY CLRNC AND BEGAN INVESTIGATING THE PROB. AFTER 3 MINS AS INSTRUCTED BY MY PRIOR CLRNC FROM CLRNC DELIVERY; I BEGAN A CLB. WHEN I LEVELED; I WAS CRUISING AT CRUISE SPD SO I ASSUMED THE GEAR WAS UP. I REALIZED I WOULD HAVE TO LAND THE MOST SUITABLE ARPT APPEARED TO BE PRESCOTT. I FELT THEY HAD EMER EQUIP IF I NEEDED IT AND I WAS NOW CLOSER TO IT THAN ANY OTHER. I FLEW OVER THE FIELD; SLOWED THE ACFT DOWN AND CRANKED THE GEAR TO THE DOWN POS; HOWEVER; I HAD NO RADIO COM CAPABILITIES OR GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT TO BE CERTAIN. I FLEW A STANDARD TFC PATTERN; PULLED MY PWR OFF ONCE THE FIELD AND LNDG ASSURED AND LANDED. THE LNDG GEAR WAS NOT DOWN. I THEN TURNED OFF THE FUEL (AND ANY OTHER EQUIP) AND COLLECTED MY CHARTS AND GOT OUT OF THE ACFT.
