Narrative
ENCOUNTERED MODERATE TO SEVERE TURB APPROX 50 FT AGL DURING LNDG FLARE. ENCOUNTERED NO MORE THAN LIGHT CHOP ON FINAL APCH. ACFT WAS HELD L WING DOWN; NOSE ALIGNED WITH CTRLINE FOR A L XWIND NORMAL LNDG. ACFT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE L TRUCK-SKIP THEN R TRUCK THEN BOTH TRUCKS. VERY DIFFICULT TO KEEP ACFT ALIGNED ON RWY HDG DURING FLARE MANEUVER. TSTMS TO N. RWYS 17/18 WERE ACTIVE RWYS -- INSIDE PORKS INTXN ASKED TO DO 360 WHILE THEY TURNED ARPT AROUND; FIRST ASSIGNED TO RWY 31R; FLEW RWY 35R. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 245336: THE FO MADE SEVERAL LARGE ROLL INPUTS IN A SUCCESSFUL EFFORT TO MAINTAIN WINGS NEAR LEVEL AND RWY ALIGNMENT. SLIGHTLY OVER 2 G'S ON ONE TOUCHDOWN. THE ROLLOUT WAS NORMAL. THERE WERE NO LLWAS ALERTS ISSUED NOR DID OUR INERTIAL SYS INDICATE ANY SIGNIFICANT WIND CHANGES. THE FLT RECORDER HAS SHOWN A VERY RAPID SHIFT OF WIND BELOW 200 FT AGL TO A MAX OF 33 KTS AT 70 DEGS OFF OF THE RWY; FROM THE L: A MAX ROLL OF OVER 9 DEGS TO THE L AND 4 DEGS TO THE R AND A MAX ROLL RATE OF 15 DEGS PER SECOND.
