LGT CARGO ACFT CAUSES JET BLAST DAMAGE TO PARKED SMA AS IT IS PARKING ON THE CARGO RAMP.
Narrative
ON TAXI IN TO GATE X; IND RAMP ENTRY POINT 3 WAS USED FOR RAMP ACCESS. THE CREW OBSERVED THE MARSHALLER'S SIGNALS AND PROCEEDED INTO THE GATE. WE THEN OBSERVED THAT THIS WAS GATE Y; SO I STOPPED THE ACFT AND CONTACTED RAMP CTL FOR PERMISSION TO ENTER THIS GATE. THIS GATE WAS APPROVED BY RAMP AND WE TAXIED INTO IT. OUR ENGS REMAINED AT IDLE PWR. THE CREW WAS ADVISED THAT SOME TAIL DAMAGE WAS DONE TO AN SMA; WHICH WAS PARKED BEHIND OUR ACFT 'TAIL TO.' THE CLOSE PROX OF OPS OF TURBOJET ACFT AND LIGHT RECIPROCALS WAS A STRONG CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. A MINIMUM OF 4 OTHER INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED ON THIS RAMP INVOLVING ACFT DAMAGED BY TURBOJET BLAST. THIS IS FURTHER DEFINED BY THIS INCIDENT'S DAMAGE OCCURRING WHILE ENGS WERE AT IDLE THRUST; AND FOLLOWING MARSHALLER'S DIRECTION. AT NO TIME DID OUR JET TAXI OFF THE PRESCRIBED COURSE OF ENTRY INTO THE GATE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH REPORTER REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR WAS UNCOOPERATIVE AND SAID I SHOULD CONTACT HIS COMPANY'S SAFETY DEPT IF I WANTED ANY FURTHER INFO.
