Narrative
I HAD PLANNED A FLT THAT WOULD INCLUDE TOUCH AND GOES AT 5 ARPTS IN THE LCL VICINITY. AS PART OF MY FLT PLANNING I HAD WRITTEN DOWN THE NAMES AND FREQS OF THE VARIOUS ARPTS IN THE ORDER THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTING THEM. THE FIRST FREQ ON THE LIST WAS FOR THE TWR AT PDX. I NEEDED TO CONTACT THEM FIRST BECAUSE I WISHED TO GO THROUGH THE ARSA ENRTE TO MY FIRST DEST WHICH WAS TTD. WHILE ON THE GND AT 60S; MY DEP ARPT; I CONTACTED PDX TWR REQUESTING PERMISSION TO TRANSIT THE ARSA ON THE N BANK OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER ENRTE TO TTD. I WAS GIVEN A SQUAWK AND WAS TOLD TO IDENT WHEN AIRBORNE. I THEN RETURNED TO THE UNICOM FREQ FOR PEARSON TO ANNOUNCE MY DEP. ONCE I WAS ESTABLISHED ON MY DOWNWIND DEP HDG I IDENTED AND DIALED IN THE FREQ OF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS PDX TWR (MY RADIO CAN ONLY SELECT 1 FREQ AT A TIME). HOWEVER; I LOOKED AT THE WRONG FREQ ON MY LIST AND DIALED IN THE FREQ FOR TTD TWR INSTEAD. I'VE MADE THIS TRANSITION THROUGH THE ARSA MANY TIMES AND I THOUGHT IT STRANGE THAT NO ONE FROM PDX TWR WAS TALKING TO ME. I CALLED THE TWR VERIFYING THAT I HAD PERMISSION TO TRANSIT THE ARSA ON THE N BANK OF THE RIVER. AGAIN; I THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE THAT THE TWR WHO RESPONDED TO MY CALL DIDN'T SEEM TO BE AWARE OF WHAT I WAS DOING AND EVEN ASKED IF I WAS SURE I HAD BEEN TALKING TO PDX TWR. I SAID YES; THAT I HAD BEEN GIVEN A SQUAWK CODE WHILE ON THE GND AT PEARSON. I WAS THEN GIVEN THE ALTIMETER AND WIND INFO AT TTD AND TOLD WHICH ENTRY TO EXPECT AT TTD. IT WASN'T UNTIL I WAS NEARLY AT TTD THAT I LOOKED AT MY FREQ LIST AND AT THE FREQ I HAD DIALED IN ON THE RADIO THAT I REALIZED WHAT I HAD DONE. FULLY EXPECTING TO BE TOLD TO MAKE A FULL STOP LNDG AT TTD AND CALL THE PDX TWR I CONTINUED ON TO TTD; BUT THERE WERE NO REPERCUSSIONS AS A RESULT OF MY ERROR. WHAT I WILL DO DIFFERENTLY NEXT TIME: BE AWARE OF HOW EASY IT IS TO ENTER THE WRONG FREQ. CHK MY LIST MORE CLOSELY AND VERIFY I HAVE THE CORRECT FREQ ON THE RADIO. IF SOMETHING DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT; BE A LITTLE MORE PERSISTENT IN VERIFYING THERE IS A PROB. I ASSUMED I WAS TALKING TO PDX AND NEVER HEARD THE NAME TROUTDALE IN THE FIRST SERIES OF XMISSIONS I MADE WITH TTD. I HEARD WHAT I EXPECTED I WAS GOING TO HEAR. I WILL LISTEN MORE CLOSELY.
