FLC OF AN MLG ACR ACFT FAILED TO REVIEW THE ACFT FLT LOG RECORD OR CARRY IT IN THE ACFT PER THE FAA APPROVED COMPANY PROCS.

Narrative

CAPT AND MYSELF FAILED TO CHK ACFT LOGBOOK PRIOR TO FLT. DURING MY PHASE OF PREFLT; I HAD 4 INTERRUPTIONS; 2 REQUIRED RADIO CALLS TO THE COMPANY. DURING THE START CHKLIST; THE CAPT RESPONDED 'CHKED' TO THE FIRST ITEM BEING 'LOGBOOKS.' I ASSUMED THE CAPT HAD CHKED THE LOGBOOKS. HE HAD; IN FACT; CHKED THE FLT ATTENDANT LOGBOOK BUT NOT THE ACFT LOGBOOK. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 247073: ALL TAXI; TKOF AND CLB SEGMENTS WERE UNEVENTFUL BUT WHEN WE REACHED CRUISE ALT AND THE ENG MONITORING WAS COMPLETE; I REACHED BACK TO ENTER THE DATA INTO THE LOGBOOK AND IT WAS NOT THERE. A THOUSAND HORRIBLE THOUGHTS WENT QUICKLY THROUGH MY MIND BUT ONLY 2 WORDS WERE UTTERED FROM MY MOUTH. I IMMEDIATELY SENT A MESSAGE VIA ACARS TO FLT DISPATCH AND MAINT CTL EXPLAINING THAT I HAD APPEARED TO HAVE DEPARTED WITHOUT THE MAINT LOG BEING IN ITS PROPER PLACE. DISPATCH SENT A MESSAGE BACK VIA ACARS THAT THE MAINT LOG WOULD BE REPLACED UPON ARR AT OUR FIRST POINT OF INTENDED LNDG. MAINT DID MEET THE FLT AND PROVIDED ME WITH A NEW LOGBOOK AND WE DEPARTED FOR OUR NEXT DEST WITH THE PROPER DOCUMENTATION ON BOARD.
